Changing Gears and Musical Musings
After chatting with Aunt Lisa about the surgical weight loss staff at Crestwood I have decided which doctor at Crestwood I want to use. Things have been so busy at work the last couple of days that I have not been able to call the hospital's surgical weight loss coordinator and make an appointment. I have called a couple of times and have only reached her voice mail. I will try again tomorrow and see where I get. I am really anxious to get this process and journey moving.
Lately, I have been really connected to some of the music I listen to. It isn't every song but certain songs have really seemed to mean more to me. I listen to a lot of music while working at the computer and wearing headphones. Many times when listening through headphones I hear so many little nuances in the music that are typically missed while listening when driving. There are a few Joe Satriani songs that seem to really fit my thoughts and feelings right now. Besides the surgical weight loss, I have a lot of other things on my mind right now. People, places, and things... pick a category and there is something from that category on my mind. When I really take a minute and think about those things I can experience a whole range of feelings. There are things that make me laugh; there are things that are unpleasant; there are things that just make me wonder. In an earlier Blog post I mentioned another Joe Satriani song. In that post, the song "Wind in the Trees" had grabbed my attention at that moment in time. For the last week or so the song "Ten Words" has been getting me every time it plays. There have been several instances where I have played it a couple of times in a row. The live version on YouTube is pretty good but I think the original from the "Super Colossal" CD is best. If you want to take a trip on over to YouTube and listen, here is the link: Joe Satriani - Ten Words Live While you are over there on YouTube, search for Joe Satriani's "Made of Tears". Not as moving as the first one but it is still a favorite.
Considering I can only keep one eye open and the other one is irritated, I guess I will call it a night. Besides, I have to get up at 4:00 AM so I can have Corey to Brewer by 6:00 AM for football workouts. I know they are doing it early so they can beat the heat but good grief it is E A R L Y!!!!!!
Good night.
