Doctor, Doctor, Please...
Dang it... me and this writing thing are just not getting along here recently. I had really intended to write more often on here. I really can't explain why I don't seem to have time to write like I want to. Some nights I sit here and stare at the monitor, almost in a trance. Other nights I sit and listen to the ham radio bands and stare at the computer monitor... Again, in a trance. Some nights, I literally fall asleep at the desk. Of course, there are also the nights spent at various football fields around North Alabama; Mondays and Fridays are game days. And of course there are the seemingly endless doctor visits.
Doctor visits... I think I have about worn out my insurance card in the last month. Let's see... My doctor and nutritionist visits for the bariatric weight loss program, Corey's appointments for knee surgery follow-up, Corey's physical therapy appointments, Corey's visit to the ophthalmologist and subsequent glasses, MY trip to the ophthalmologist with NO glasses and an upcoming visit to my regular doctor. I can assure you of one thing, my wallet is definitely quite a bit thinner.
So... what are the results of all of these visits? Corey and his knee are doing fine. I think that next week he should be released to play (knocking on wood here). He also got glasses which he apparently needed pretty bad but hadn't bothered to tell anyone. I have managed to lose 15 pounds. It's amazing how much you can lose by cutting out sugar and most carbs. It hasn't been easy by any stretch of the imagination but I have done it... for the most part. I still eat a small amount one or two days a week. It is dang near impossible to completely cut them out. I had my eyes checked. I was having problems with one eye draining and being goopy. Visene was my treatment of choice. As it turns out, Visene is not really good for your eyes. Yes, it does provide initial relief but in the end it can be more of an irritant. Basically, the doc said for me to stop using it. He also did a top to bottom, inside and out exam of my eyes. Everything is fine although he did say that my arms would eventually be too short to read, but not for a few years. He did tell me what strength of reading glasses to get at the dug store though. Such is life, I guess.
Anyway, I am zoning out sitting here... I have even dozed off while sitting here. Time for bed. Nite all.
