No, I didn't Abandon the Blog Part 1

Holy crap it has been a long time since I posted anything here.  Sorry about that folks.  Life has just been absolutely crazy the last few months.  Truthfully, I don't even know where to start but here we go!

The last time I posted I was in Chicago and had gotten myself into some kind of funk and was kinda down.  I am over that particular funk but there is plenty of other stuff to take its place.  Chicago was an interesting place... at least what I saw (but, honestly, wasn't much).  It was a nice break away from everything here though. I really enjoyed seeing my good friends Amy and Glenn.  We didn't get to spend as much time visiting as we wanted to but we still had a good time.  Chicago was also fun because it allowed me to experience some new foods.  I had Polish, German, Chicago Beef, Chicago Hot Dogs, and Chicago Style Pizza.  I have to say that the Chicago Style pizza was my favorite.  Even with eating all of my meals out and most of them not really falling into the diet category, I still managed to do OK with my weight loss.  I had a nutritionist appointment on the Wednesday after I got back and had still managed to lose around 8 pounds since my previous visit.  The next day was Thanksgiving though.  Who doesn't love turkey, dressing, and all of the other food that accompanies it?  Of course, the next several weeks following Thanksgiving involve eating and more eating and then Christmas shows up and there is even more good food to be eaten.  I had another nutritionist appointment between Christmas and New Years and i was worried that I had gained weight.  As it turns out, I had lost 1 (one) pound.... One little pound.  Geez.  At least I lost though.  The nutritionist provided positive support and mentioned that I was within 4 pounds of my target weight.  That little tidbit of info was exciting!

Only 4 pounds until I've reached my target weight and only 2 more nutritionist visits!  On the flip side of my excitement though, I am getting nervous about the surgery... wondering if I am really doing the right thing... uncertainty.  I have a nutritionist appointment on Friday and again I am worried about whether or not I have managed to lose any weight.  There was the traditional New Year's Day meal and then my birthday dinner (Porterhouse Steak at Outback [first and probably the last one ever]), and the terrible diet we have been eating since then.  Since eating at Outback, we have been eating less than perfect diet food.  Eating healthy can be a little more expensive and somehow (I really know how but that is topic for another day) we got messed up and have had limited funds for groceries.  We survived and had food but it wasn't really what we should have been eating.  I think I am back on track this week though.  We'll see for sure Friday.

Oh well, it is late and my pillow is calling.

More tomorrow hopefully.
