New Doc and other thoughts
Well, I've not been the best about posting here but I just have lots of stuff going on. Last Thursday, I had my first appointment with the people at the Surgical Weight Loss Center at Crestwood Hospital. So far, all of the staff have been really nice. Wow, they are much more thorough with the whole process. On the first visit, before I even saw the coordinator, they did something called a "Metabolic Cart". It is supposedly a test to measure your metabolic rate. Yeah, ok... whatever. I didn't really understand it but since it didn't hurt, I didn't mind. The only thing I am really worried about is going freaking broke. There is a lot of stuff that Insurance doesn't pay for and it is expensive. And this doesn't even take into account the surgery. Maybe it will all work out. I hope so. The only other thing that I have any reservations about is the type of procedure to be performed. Initially (over a year ago) I had considered gastric banding or more commonly known as the Lap Band. After some reading and thinking, I had changed my mind and decided to go with the Roux-en-Y or gastric bypass. Now, after I have made my intentions public and my family knows what I am doing, some of them are encouraging the Lap Band. I know each procedure has its pros and cons and I know I have to be the one to ultimately decide... and I'm working on it... It just isn't as easy as it sounds. I meet with the surgeon on August 9th so I will see what his opinion is.
There has been so much going on with work and school and work and family and work, and, and....I really wish something would give and things slow down just a little bit. I really need a break. To top it off, most of those thing listed are really causing a LOT of stress. There are a lot of days that I am really up-tight. I don't mean to be but that's just the way it goes. Once again, something needs to give.
By the way, if anyone knows of a house for rent in the Eva, Oden Ridge, Somerville, Cotaco, (maybe) Hartselle, (maybe) Priceville area, please let me know. I can't afford something $1,200 or even $800 but $550 or less I would consider. Gotta have 3 bedrooms too. Time for a change.
I typically tend to think of myself as an intelligent person. I even consider myself a genius at times. Either way, I think I am pretty smart and have a good handle on the world and people. On the other hand though, some people confuse me and I have trouble figuring out what they say and/or mean. Sometimes I think I know and then WHAM! Nope, lost again. I know that you can't understand everyone all of the time but good grief this is eating at me.
Time to go for now though, I'm tired and I know we have a busy day ahead tomorrow. The boys have freshman orientation at Brewer tomorrow, Corey has a Dr appointment to get his knee seen about, and who knows what else.
Later.
